Award-winning lyricist Jan Erik Vold and John Pål Inderberg, the country's leading baritone saxophonist, invite you, along with the rest of the band, to a concert in beautiful Kongsberg Church.
The audience will hear a musical poetry reading presented by Jan Erik Vold in combination with melodies from American cool jazz, so-called lines, combined with Norwegian folk tunes led by saxophonist John Pål Inderberg.
The lyrics are taken from several of Jan Erik's own releases, including the album HER ER HUSET SOM PER BYGDE (1996) and the legendary BLÅMANN, BLÅMANN (1988).
Jan Eric Vold is a poet, re-poet, literary writer and communicator. His poetry encompasses everything from nonsense poems to politically engaged works. Vold has released several albums in collaboration with famous jazz musicians, including Chet Baker, Jan GarbarekHe has a long-standing musical collaboration with his regular pianist, Egil Cape Town.
John Pål Inderberg is a saxophonist, arranger and composer. He has collaborated with jazz greats such as Lee Konitz, Warne Marsh og Bjorn AlterhaugInderberg has been a senior associate professor and section leader at the Jazz Department at NTNU in Trondheim for several decades, and was awarded the King's Medal of Merit for his important contributions to the Norwegian jazz community.
The audience can look forward to playful communication, spontaneous interaction, and a good mix of everyday seriousness and humor. An absolute highlight!
