A commissioned work by Fredrik Høyer and Håvard Aufles
In 2024, the town of Kongsberg celebrates its 400th anniversary, at the same time as it is 60 years since the local jazz club Jazz Evidence decided to create a jazz festival in the mining town. This historical backdrop lays the foundation for this artist duo to set out with a wealth of historical and mythical references to excavate a new mine in Kongsberg's history.
The poet Fredrik Høyer has written a long poem about the love for the place, for the town and village you come from, which is both nostalgic and romantic, and constantly changing, in step with society and the world. A tribute to local identity, a wink-in-the-eye critique of small-town mentality - but most of all it's about the people you love.
Håvard Aufles' musical ideas for the text are performed together with the improvising musicians Joel Ring and Lars Ove Fossheim. Acoustics and electronics in unison, an anachronistic look at history!
The performance is held in a particularly non-traditional venue - in the premises of a dedicated collector of old cars, pinball machines, sausage kiosks and everything that holds a good story.

Brief about key performers:
Fredrik Hoyer is a poet, playwright, writer, actor and artist from Drammen. As a playwright, he has performed several works on stage, both at the Nationaltheatret, Teater Ibsen, Dramatikkens Hus and Brageteatret. He has published both novels and children's books, and made major appearances as a poet and artist.
Håvard Aufles writes, records, produces and mixes his own music for various constellations, and is an active pianist and synth player. The Kongsberg boy started as a volunteer at the festival as a 13-year-old, received the Kongsberg Jazz Festival's recruitment award in 2016, and has since played at the festival with bands such as Trondheim Jazz Orchestra and Lav Sol. This year he also plays with Veslemøy Narvesen and the band 1624, - the year of the founding of Kongsberg city. A perfectly closed circle, that is.
