Henriette Eilertsen solo
- Poems for flute and friends

Last year's DNB Prize winner can be experienced in several formats during the festival. In addition to the commissioned work Just a Universe at Energimølla on July 4th and Særingfest at Smeltehytta on Thursday, July 3rd, we also have the pleasure of experiencing Henriette Eilertsen in her solo project Poems for Flute at the Stone House.
Then there was the jazz flute. This somewhat shy, rare wind instrument in the jazz fauna, which appears here and there. Maybe a saxophonist got an old flute for Christmas and wanted to try something new, or another got interested in various folk music and wanted to return to the roots with his "sound". But the pure-hearted jazz flutist, who exclusively devotes himself to this oldest of the woodwind instruments, well, there are more sparse ranks.
Henriette Eilertsen has distinguished herself as an uncompromising explorer of the flute's possibilities. Whether through free improvisations, fragile melody lines or processed soundscapes, there is always a clear voice that emerges: the flute – and Eilertsen's unique relationship with it.
Her solo project, which resulted in the critically acclaimed album POEMS FOR FLUTE (2021), consists of short musical poems – some with clear melodic guidelines, others more soaring and exploratory. In the solo format, Eilertsen lets the instrument emerge in its purest form, but always with an eye for the modern: extended techniques and acoustic curiosities are seamlessly woven into the expression.
We are looking forward to this solo concert at Steinhytta. There are more surprises in store!
Welcome!
