Helga Myhr & Tanja Orning

On Friday 8 July, Helga Myhr & Tanja Orning will play a concert at Låven. Join us and get an insight into free folk music and the tonal possibilities of the instruments.

Concert start: 13:00 Single ticket price: NOK 250

Helga Myhr plays the harding fiddle, and she is an important carrier and transmitter of Norwegian traditional music. But her interests go further, and she has reached far beyond the folk music milieu with the band 'Morgonrode'. She is fascinated by free and experimental music, and she is interested in the sound possibilities of the Hardingfela. This leads her into many exciting musical constellations, and she has established a collaboration with the cellist Tanja Orning. She is a significant composer and instrumentalist within contemporary music. With their respective backgrounds, these two inspire each other to explore the tonal possibilities of the instruments and create an exciting interplay influenced both by free improvisation, contemporary music and folk music.
