Gurls
Gurls consists of three of the freshest additions to the Norwegian jazz scene in recent times. Now they are ready for a night concert at Energimølla!
Gurls will release their debut album in February and are undoubtedly a band we will be hearing more from in the future. With one foot in pop and one foot in jazz, Gurls takes the audience to a musical landscape characterized by both Rihanna and Neneh Cherry. With banally simple melodies and long virtuosic stretches, they make shamelessly catchy music!
Rohey Taalah is referred to as Norway's new soul sensation, known from the band Rohey and with a voice that takes most people's breath away.
Hanna Paulsberg we know him as a saxophonist in his own band Hanna Paulsberg Concept, but also as a significant contributor in several projects with the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra.
Ellen Andrea Wang has previously received the Kongsberg Jazz Festival's major musician prize, the DNB prize - and has played around the country and coast with both his own trio and the band Pixel. She has also toured regularly with the drum legend Manu Catché and in that connection she performed in 2016 with Sting in Paris.
