Poetry Oasis – Göran Fristorp

Göran Fristorp’s artistic career started over 50 years ago, and he has been regarded as one of Scandinavia’s leading singer-songwriters since the 1970s. Well known as a songwriter and in the jazz world, he’s renowned for his guitar-playing and for his wonderful voice. His versatility and captivating presence have made him a firm favourite, especially in Norway and Sweden, for over half a century.

Fristorp has recorded no fewer than 26 albums, ranging from Egne låtar (“Own songs”), a recording of Evert Taube’s songs (1990) to an album with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra – Klassisk Fristorp (2013). He has played several thousand concerts and has collaborated with a wide range of top Scandinavian artists, including Herborg Kråkevik, Helen Sjöholm, Arild Andersen, Putte Wickman, Arne Domnérus and Karoline Krüger.

Together with Sven-Bertil Taube, Göran Fristorp has toured all over Norway, and they are two of the foremost performers in the Swedish singer-songwriter tradition today.
