Frøkedal & Familien
Folk, indie pop and fiddle rock merge into a lovely unit
Frøkedal & Familien have made a name for themselves with their distinctive folk pop that is close to both rock and folk music. With the last record - Spellemann nominees Flora - in the luggage, Frøkedal and the band Familien have reached out to more and more people.
The soundscape is dynamic with vocals, electric guitar, fiddles, organ and drums, as well as strumming instruments such as mandola and baglamas. Now comes the band Kongsberg Jazz Festival to present the music where it belongs: in a room with live people present.
Frøkedal & Familien have received warm reviews in The New Yorker and The Sunday Times, have played live on BBC Radio 6 and received two Spellemann nominations. They have also had a taste of the arena format, as a warm-up for A-ha and Madrugada in Oslo Spektrum. Recently they toured England as special guests for Scottish Teenage Fanclub.
