THE BARN VALENTINE: Fly to the moon, fly!
Children's choir & jazz quartet
Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and our own Nora Brockstedt were some of them
the world's very first pop stars. In the 40s, 50s and 60s, their songs went around the world
around, and with this jazz became common property.
Singer and composer Beate Lech has together with lyricist Jørund Fluge
Samuelsen dusted off ten good, old jazz musicians from pop's childhood and gave them
new musical arrangements and new Norwegian texts.
With Fly to the Moon, Fly! - songs from the golden age of jazz are introduced to children's and youth choirs
with jazz as a form of music - in concert with a live jazz band. We therefore send
the Nymark Collective jazz quartet on tour to local choirs and concert organisers.
