Kongsberg Big Band - The band, which has previously had so many up-and-coming talented jazz musicians in its ranks, has again brought with it a group of exciting young talents. Jarle Storløkken has arranged well-known songs by Steely Dan, John Scofield and Prince. Together with some songs created by the band's own young talents, this forms concerts with a large range and room for many soloist elements. Jarle Storløkken and Jon Gunnar Tovsrud have collaborated to get the band in top shape and will lead it during the festival.
Swing'it Dixie Band plays catchy and entertaining Dixieland, with humor, little jokes, three buckets of charm and an out-of-tune banjo - all dressed in classic style with suspenders, crossbows and straw hats!
On her many travels, the Numedal girl has drawn inspiration from encounters with people and nature. Delivers both playfully and mysteriously Sadhna a strong depiction of the many aspects of man, soul life and the beauty of nature. Sadhna moves across genres with elements of alternative pop, folk, jazz and world. Earlier this year, she released her debut album "in the heart of the wild", an independent release with self-composed songs. The album is released on CD and digitally.
Chris Ivy has the ability to write songs in many genres. His texts have their origins in various events, considerations and experiences. The raw material for most of the songs is created with the acoustic guitar in the lap and with melody lines and lyrics in the head. With him he has his regular 7-man crew who are also very involved in turning the song ideas into a very balanced and lively experience. They have so far released two albums, "Peace of mind (2008) and "That's a fact" (2014). A new album is currently being worked on. The concert will contain songs from both albums, but also brand new material.
Both Friday and Saturday evening entrances Funkelia Groove Company stage as the last number on the concert programme. Soul and funk are the landscape in which they move, and it is difficult to keep the dancing feet still when these 12 musicians fire up. Kompet is ably led by the band's young and driven talented drummer, and the brass band consists of some of the city's most experienced musicians. When the vocal lineup is fronted by one of the city's rawest vocalists, there is no doubt: this group must be experienced!
Ole K has been a DJ around Norway since the end of the nineties, mainly in bars and clubs in Oslo, Stavanger and Tromsø (also some late nights at Circa Cafe in Kongsberg, early 2000s.) He plays a blissful mix of (largely older) soul, funk, yacht rock, disco and pop. Not too weird, not too straight, but very dance-friendly.
