The duo Emil Brattested and Emilie Bjørnstad came into existence in the autumn of 2016, when the members met during their master's studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music. A shared fascination for the steel guitar's magical essence has so far resulted in resilient versions of their own and other people's songs. In terms of genre, the duo operates in a fairly traditional landscape within the rhythmic music field. It is all tied together by the significant sound of steel guitar against a clear vocal.

Emilie Bjørnstad is a vocalist and songwriter from Molde. She has a bachelor's degree as a performing musician from the University of Agder. Emil Brattested is a guitarist, saxophonist and composer from Gol in Hallingdal, who is active in several Oslo-based bands/projects. With his bachelor's degree in performing music from NMH, he is now, like Emilie, studying for a master's degree at the same school.
