With the critically acclaimed and brand new album CLOSENESS II (2024) in the bag, the bassist, vocalist and composer - known as a steady and inventive force from collaborations with the Gurls, Sting, Manu Katché and Bugge Wesseltoft - shows how the best of jazz and pop can unite. Wang his Closeness band has garnered international recognition for their musical interplay and since their debut album they have played around 100 club concerts/festivals in Europe and headlined jazz festivals such as Athens Jazz Festival, Moldejazz and London Jazz Festival.
With a sound that is both melodious, catchy and vital, Wang mixes styles in unique ways, and she has her own ability to create moods that touch both the heart and the soul. With her on the team, she has the British shooting star Rob Luft on guitar (John Surman, Django Bates) and the Swedish, distinguished drummer Jon Fält (Bobo Stenson Trio).
Wang received his Kongsbergjazz DNB price in 2015, and held the concert Songs From Country at the festival the following year. The rumors about this concert were clearly enthusiastic, because in 2017 she played another concert at the festival, this time to a sold-out Argus Grand Hotel.
