Eirik Hegdal: ‘EnEnEn’ med Johan Lindström
Eirik Hegdal has composed new music for this year’s festival, and he is bringing his own colourful trio “EnEnEn” and the uniquely talented Swedish pedal steel-guitarist Johan Lindström to play it.
In Hegdal’s work, a free and fresh universe is revealed – and it is easy to be fascinated by the musicians’ creativity. EnEnEn started working together in 2017 and have released two albums, Rød & Blå (“Red & Blue”; 2010) and Grønn & Gul (“Green & Gold”; 2017).
The concert will be a meeting of great musical personalities, in Hegdal’s uniquely tailored music. We hope the music will be recorded for posterity in a new, colourfully-titled album after the festival!
Johan Lindström is known to Norwegian audiences through his work with Susanne Sundfør, but at home in Sweden he has worked with a range of great jazz musicians, Ane Brun, Tonbruket, and his own Johan Lindström Septet. Hegdal’s first meeting with Lindström’s genial musicality was at a concert with Per Texas Johanson at Blå in 1999.
