Baksaas & Eikrem

The duo originates from the collaboration between Mopti & Bendik Baksaas, and play their own music in the borderland between improvisation, composition and production where the intention is to explore soundscapes with a free trumpet, playful synths and field recordings as the main pillars. The absence of drum sounds and stable pulse opens the door for subtle flirting with rhythm and time. The intensive approach to composition and mixing gives the music a sensitive and honest feel where the improvisation and communication between the two musicians is the supporting element.

The music is a minimalist and soft dance; a balanced meeting where organic sounds merge with synths, precise and well-worked sound design hand in hand with an experimental approach to form and song structure. The improvisations and compositions are sensitive to nuances and are always unpredictable.
