Earth, Wind & Fire + Bernhoft

Concert start: 19:00 Single ticket price: NOK 750 / day pass NOK 1175

Almost ten years after their last visit to Norway, the iconic band is heading for the Kongsberg Jazz Festival. On Thursday 7 July, the festival's main stage will be transformed into "Boogie Wonderland". And not only that: Bernhoft does a double concert with the legends of Earth, Wind & Fire!

Earth, Wind & Fire is considered one of the world's most reliable party bands. Since 1969, they have crossed various musical genres such as R&B, soul, funk, jazz, disco, pop, rock, Latin and African music. Mixed with a number of hits, they have thus managed to become one of the most successful bands of the 20th century. Their characteristic groove and upbeat signature sound have placed Earth, Wind & Fire on the list of the world's best-selling artists with 100 million albums sold.

The band was founded by musical genius Maurice White, who unfortunately died after a long illness a short time ago. Fortunately, the music lives on and the original members Philip Bailey, Verdine White and Ralph Johnson continue to tour with sold-out concerts all over the world. Earth, Wind & Fire had their real heyday in the 70s and 80s, when their African and Latin-inspired soul funk made them one of the most popular bands of the disco era and earned them fans among critics and musicians such as Miles Davis, Dionne Warwick and star producers such as David Foster and Quincy Jones. Since then, EWF's music has influenced, been covered and sampled by top artists such as Prince, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Jay Z, Usher, Bruno Mars and many more. The string of hits is superior and includes songs like "September", "Boogie Wonderland", "After the Love Has Gone", and "Let's Groove".

Philip Bailey (lead voc.), Ralph Johnson (vocals/percussion), Verdine White (bass), Philip Doron Bailey (vocals), Gary Bias (sax), Robert Burns (trumpet), Reginald Young (trombone), Myron McKinley ( musical director/keyboards), Morris O'Connor (guitar), Serg Dimitrijevic (guitar), John Paris (drums), Benjamin Whitworth (percussion/vocals) ***

Bernhoft doubles with Earth Wind and Fire

Everything should be in place for good vibrations when Bernhoft raises the mood at Kirketorget. One of the country's biggest artists - with a full band! Bernhoft & The Fashion Bruises consists of a stellar team of musicians. In other words, it will be a bang-up start before Earth Wind and Fire end the evening. The singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer Bernhoft started his solo career in 2008 with the album "Ceramik City Chronicles". In the years to come, he toured the country, built up an impressive live reputation and at the same time built a loyal audience. Bernhoft's list of achievements is long; three chart-topping studio albums, Player of the Year in 2012 and Grammy nomination in 2015, to name a fraction. This summer, Bernhoft will play with his band "The Fashion Bruises" at several festivals and we are honored to be visiting Kongsberg - the same night as the legends of Earth, Wind & Fire are on stage!

Bernhoft (vocals/guitar/keyboard), Fredrik Wallumrød (drums/vocals), Hedvig Mollestad Thomassen (guitar/vocals), Nicolay Tangen Svennæs (keyboards/vocals), Vemund Stavnes (bass/vocals)
