Death's Wardrobe w/Laura Toxværd

Concert starts: 21:00 Single ticket price: NOK 220

It's no secret that things are currently breeding and growing in Danish jazz life. At Kongsberg Jazzfestival, we follow with open ears all the exciting and innovative happenings in free jazz and other improvised music with our neighbors to the south. Death's Wardrobe is a sparkling example of this!

Dødens Garderobe was formed in 2009, and quickly made a mark on the Danish jazz scene. They themselves say that they have an open and free way of approaching the music, and that they are concerned with the experimental part of jazz.

Their first record release came in 2012, and it shows two important sides of the trio. Here it is specified that all the tracks are improvisations. They also have a guest with them - sax legend John Tchicai. It's something they often do at concerts, and at this year's festival it means rehearsing Laura Toxværd. We remember her with pleasure from the concert at Energimølla in 2013, and now these four will exchange musical ideas and together create an exciting tonal landscape. Everything based on the main motto of Dødens Garderobe: It's about music!

Laura Toxværd - sax
Jeppe Zeeberg - piano
Nicolai Kaas Claesson – double bass
Rune Lohse – drums
