The documentary Cool Cats tells the story of jazz legends Dexter Gordon and Ben Webster's stay in Copenhagen in the 1960s. In Copenhagen, the American musicians found a haven from their home country's racial discrimination and cultural devaluation. At the same time, the two saxophone magicians set in motion a musical avalanche, which made Copenhagen the capital of European jazz. Through skilfully orchestrated archive material, the film shows the meeting between two jazz icons and Copenhagen.
