Come Shine with Jan Erik Vold, Knut Reiersrud, Knut Aalefjær and Eirik Tovsrud Knutsen
The 51st edition of the Kongsberg jazz festival opens with the audience and critics' favorite Come Shine, gradually known as one of the country's very best and most played live bands!
It's been two years since Come Shine last visited the festival, at that time relevant with a brand new comeback after a ten-year hiatus. During the time that has passed since the last time, the band has released the album "Red and Gold" to rave reviews, held a grand release concert on the main stage of Den Norske Opera, toured country and shore around Norway and become a live band in jazz's elite division.
For the concert in Kongsberg cinema on Wednesday 1 July, Come Shine has topped the team with four famous guests: the Jazz poet Jan Eric Vold and the guitar magician Knut Reiersrud, as well as two other of the country's top specialists in their fields; percussion Knut Aalefjær and Hammond organist Eirik Tovsrud Knutsen. These were also some of the guests Come Shine brought with them to their magnificent release concert in the opera - and it is clear that the collaboration added flavor!
Come Shine has attracted attention with its highly original interpretations of standard jazz songs arranged in an inventive way by the band's pianist Erlend Skomsvoll. The quartet is known for its energetic and engaging concerts, where playfulness and the joy of communication are at the centre. The chances are high that the audience can expect even more of this when Come Shine, led by vocalist Live Maria Roggen, brings Vold/Reiersrud/Aalefjær/Knutsen on stage.
Come Shine with guests consists of:
Live Maria Roggen – vocals
Erlend Skomsvoll – piano and arrangements
Sondre Meisfjord - bass
Håkon Mjåset Johansen – drums
Jan Eric Vold – poem and voice
Knut Reiersrud – guitar
Knut Aalefjær – percussion and melodic percussion
Eirik Tovsrud Knutsen – Hammond B3
