Close Erase

A legendary band reborn!

Door opens: 20:30 Single ticket price: NOK 350

Some bands become legends and remain in the past as legends. But some legends come back and once again become central to contemporary jazz. The trio Close Erase is one such reborn legendary band. Now they are coming to Kongsberg Jazz Festival.

Christian Wallumrød, Ingebrigt Haker Flaten og Per Oddvar Johansen are the musicians in Close Erase. They met at the jazz education in Trondheim, and the trio soon became an important part of the creative and innovative environment around the club. Blue in Oslo.

On their first two albums, which came out in 1996 and 1999, they are clearly inspired by Paul Bley og Svein Finnerud Trio. But then, with the albums DANCE THIS (2001) and SPORT ROCKS (2006) they suddenly appeared in a completely different guise. Now the expression was electrified and could remember the 70s Miles DavisThis impression was further confirmed by a super rhythmic and steamy live album from Dokkhuset in Trondheim (2007).

In 2009, the trio played their last concert, but in the fall of 2024 they were finally back – with music that is at least as awesome and groovy as before! We can hardly wait to experience Close Erase at Energimølla!
