Christian Meaas Svendsen solo
Many festival-goers have had great and surprising concert experiences at the intimate Galleri Åkern.

Now they can add another rather special musical experience to their concert experiences: a solo concert with bassist Christian Meaas Svendsen.
Christian Meaas Svendsen has, within a few years, established himself at the heart of Norwegian jazz and improvisational music. He has musical tentacles out in many directions, so one day he plays quiet, eastern-inspired music with Nakama, the other day intense energy jazz with Momentum and the third power jazz with Paal Nilssen-Loves Large Unit. We also know him from bands such as Duplex, Mopti and more. And he therefore also plays solo concerts. There is hardly any other bass player who has tried to explore all the sound possibilities of the double bass to such an extent. He hits the bass, he plays with two bows at the same time, he punches out with both flat hands at the same time, and indeed he also sneaks a leg around the bass and curls his toes over the strings.
