Blues for Montmartre

Concert starts: 16:00 Price single ticket: Free,

Free

A great new documentary film about the famous and fabled jazz club Montmartre in Copenhagen, told through a series of evocative musical portraits with, among others, Dexter Gordon and Ben Webster. Nordic artists are also included, among them both Jan Garbarek and Miriam Mazur - but also the brilliant American Albert Ayler, who through some hectic years inspired Nordic jazz with his distinctive black way of playing. The club was closed several years ago, but the film revives the musical memories and makes them familiar and close again.

Director: Christian Braad Thomsen, Denmark, 2014, 58 min.
