Bjørn Eidsvåg

All of Norway's Bjørn Eidsvåg guests of the Kongsberg Jazz Festival

Door opens: 20:00 Single ticket price: NOK 550

Bjørn Eidsvåg manages through his poetry to put into words thoughts and experiences that many people can relate to. The songs are at the same time rawly honest and vulnerable, and strike right at the root of the heart.

The education as a priest and the experiences from work in psychiatry have inspired Bjørn Eidsvåg's songs and the way he conveys them. He is one of the country's most popular artists of all time, and has always stood on the barricades for the right to say and be what you want, regardless of who you like and what you believe or don't believe in. He has a strong desire to engage with his audience on all aspects of being human. Therefore, his lyrics bear the stamp of the big things - questions such as faith, love, regret and doubt are elegantly addressed in beautiful songs.

Since his debut in 1976, Bjørn Eidsvåg has released 25 records and been awarded the Spellemannsprisen four times. He graduated in cand.theol at the Theological Church Faculty in Oslo in 1980, and is an ordained priest. Bjørn Eidsvåg is still one of Norway's best-selling artists, and has always toured extensively. From the 80s, he has been steady with approx. 80 concerts per year in Norway and Denmark, and built up a very dedicated audience.
