Beam Splitter

Door opens: 13:00 Price single ticket: NOK 200

Beam Splitter is Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø (trombone) and Audrey Chen (voice). This exquisite duo travels the world and receives everywhere a highly appreciative reception. Now they are ready for the Kongsberg Jazz Festival with a concert in the distinctive art gallery Åkern.

Audrey Chen comes from the USA and Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø from Trondheim. They formed the duo Beam Splitter in May 2015. The sound sources are trombone and voice - and it is rewarding to follow the dialogue between the two. They both talk together and tear themselves away from each other. They go into low-key, fragile sound exchanges that can be broken by temperamental outbursts, and the duo manages to balance between the ecstatic and the controlled.

When the duo kicks off at Galleri Åkern on July 8, they will be straight from tours in New Zealand, Argentina and Brazil. We can expect two musicians who know each other well, who are confident in each other and who play well together!
