Beady Belle
Beady Belle is described as funky electronic jazz with strong soul elements and wonderful vocals. Her voice is like velvet, hypnotic and seductive, raw and emotional.
Beady Belle is a boundary-breaking, Norwegian artist who operates in her own musical universe. She is at the interface of pop/soul/funk/electronica/jazz/folk. After taking part in nearly thirty record releases, she is now again doing everything herself. Beady Belle also writes, performs, arranges, produces, programs and makes her own music videos.
Beady Belle is internationally recognized, but has almost been a secret in Norway, where she first became widely known and noticed through Stjernekamp 2019.
Beady Belle, alias Beate S. Lech, started as front vocalist in the band Folk & Røvere in 1996, while she was studying at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Furthermore, she has released a number of records in collaboration with, among others, Bugge Wesseltoft, Jon Eberson, Adam Douglas, Joshua Redman, Jarle Bernhoft, Georg Riedel, SKRUK...etc.
Dagbladet's reviewer rolled the dice and called her "Norway's answer to Beyonce". She has toured in large parts of the world since the early 2000s. And has collaborated with world stars such as Jamie Cullum, India.Arie, Dee Dee Bridgewater and others.
This is refined neo-soul, with the groove firmly planted at the core of it all. And the crowning glory is Beady Belle's velvety voice with enormous excess and presence.
Beady Belle released her eleventh studio album, Nothing But The Truth in 2022, marking the 20th anniversary of her debut.
