Thea & The Wild plays Lillebjørn Nilsen

With three catchy, critically acclaimed solo albums in the bag and a fourth on the way, Thea Glenton Raknes under the stage name Thea & The Wild has distinguished herself as a strong songwriter, live broadcaster and vocalist. Her music has earned her a Spellemann nomination, praise from critics both at home and abroad, and warm recommendations from, among others, Rolling Stone Magazine. After starting her career in Oslo-gryta, for the past ten years she has toured and played around the country at clubs and festivals with her live musicians, and constantly charms new audiences with her infectious mood.
For this year's jazz festival, she will come to Barnivalen with her "Thea & The Wild play Lillebjørn Nilsen", a commissioned piece for Miniøya, premiered at the festival on 9 June 2024. With her on stage, she has a brilliant live band consisting of Kenneth Ishak, Ryan McPhun and Linn Frøkedal.
We are incredibly happy that the youngest at the festival are now going get to take part in Lillebjørn Nilsen's cultural treasure, and we're guessing that many adults are also looking forward to this concert!
The train

The train is a band that plays cool guitar music. Here you get both music you've surely heard before, mixed with music you haven't heard before. This train stops at stations along American music history, from the early 1900s onwards. Take your seat on the train, join in and sing, clap, snap and dance! The train strolls steadily and tactfully along the rails, taking you safely through familiar and unfamiliar landscapes.
The band consists of Marius Hirth Klovning on guitar and banjo, Edvard Mjanger on bass and Mats Mæland Jensen on drums and percussion. Klovning and Mæland Jensen have previously released records together in the bands Hyllyboo and Vellichor. Klovning won the 2022 Spellemannpris in the class Jazz with the band Flukten. Mjanger has toured with Bjørn Tomren this summer, while Mæland Jensen from Mjøndalen has recently toured with the band LÖV and Kajsa Balto.
Swing it

Swing'it takes the audience on a journey 100 years back in time, and across the Atlantic to 1920s New Orleans. They play catchy and entertaining Dixieland, with humor, little jokes, three buckets of charm and an out-of-tune banjo - served with straw hats, crossbows and lots of fun playing!
