German trumpet great Axel Dörner is an acclaimed improviser who has played an important role on the experimental scene in Berlin for almost two decades. This year we are lucky enough to experience him both solo and together with Sulida at Argus the following day!
Dörner is a technical master, with a very unique sensitivity and creativity. His playing style is partly based on his own techniques and unusual solutions in his approach to the trumpet.
In addition to Monk's Casino, The Deciders and The Electrics, he has collaborated with countless talented musicians, and it is a pleasure to welcome him to the Kongsberg Jazz Festival!
