Avanthagen – the place where free music grows wild!

Sofia Jernberg & Agnes Hvizdalek
Outstanding singers on the same stage!
So a Jernberg is a Swedish/Ethiopian singer and composer. One of her main interests as a singer is developing the "instrumental" possibilities of her voice. She has come a long way in her work with so-called "split tones", toneless singing and distorted vocals.
Agnes Hvizdalek is an improvisational musician whose main instrument is the voice. Her dedication to new music and fascination with the human voice is expressed in her abstract vocal music. She works in a wide range of genres — from jazz to noise and electronic dance music to classical contemporary music.
Isabelle Duthoit solo
We can expect terrific improvisations with a very high level of detail.
French Isabelle Duthoit is known for her many years of collaboration with the trumpeter Franz Hautzinger and she convinced the entire hall during the fourth year's concert at Blow Out! with Lene Grenager and Hamid Drake.
She comes to Kongsberg solo, on vocals and clarinet
Summer Strings
In recent years, the conductor and olinist Ilan Volkov has assembled a star team under the Summer Strings umbrella at Café Oto in London, and now we are taking the idea further to Kongsberg for this collaboration with Ny Musikk.
Together with Ilan Volkov, this time we get to hear a Norwegian Summer Strings, with Tanja Orning on cello and John Andrew Wilhite and Michael Francis Duch on basses.
