Annie & The Caldwells
– groove, energy and pure musical joy!

“The world's best soul band? The world's best band, period?” wrote MOJO journalist David Hutcheon – and after one night with Annie & The Caldwells it's easy to see why.
With vocalist and matriarch Annie Caldwell in the front, the entire family from Mississippi is on stage: husband, daughters, sons – even the goddaughter is there! Together they create a musical explosion of gospel-inspired soul, funk and disco – warm grooves, funky bass and otherworldly choir.
After 40 years on stage, they released their first album CAN'T LOSE (MY SOUL) (2025) this year on David Byrnes label Luaka Bop – to rave reviews. The Guardian gave it five stars, and the band has already had success on Way Out West.
But even after this success, Annie is still behind the counter at her family store, Caldwell Fashions – proof that authenticity and soul never go out of style.
At Energimølla they will round off the Kongsberg Jazz Festival with a very special closing concert – an evening where our city will move to the same beat. This will be a sweaty, groovy and irresistible party you don't want to miss!
