ALAN SILVA'S FREE ELECTRIC BAND + MARSHALL ALLEN
Door opens: 17:00
Single ticket price: NOK 300

Alan Silva and Marshall Allen are true products of 1960s free jazz. Now the super veterans meet two of today's most profiled 'free' musicians, Mette Rasmussen and Ståle Liavik Solberg at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival.
Alan Silva broke through as a bass player with greats such as Cecil Taylor, Albert Ayler and Archie Shepp. Today he is just as much a keyboardist. In the trio Alan Silva's Free Electric Band, he has brought along the Danish saxophonist Mette Rasmussen and the Norwegian drummer Ståle Liavik Solberg. This is undoubtedly one of contemporary jazz's most interesting trios. Mette Rasmussen can be described as a true shooting star. She travels the globe and everywhere demonstrates a rare vital, expressive and temperamental playing. Ståle Liavik Solberg is a particularly responsive and nuanced, but at the same time both rough and tough, drummer.
As an added bonus, the trio is now bringing saxophonist Marshall Allen with them to Kongsberg. Allen has served faithfully in the Sun Ra Arkestra for many decades. The meeting between the staunch super veterans and the young Scandinavians should meet even the most discerning expectations!
