Two of the most exciting young bands from Kongsberg are taking the step into the main program
Some concerts mean a little extra to us.
For many years, Kongsberg Jazz Festival has been an arena where young musicians can try themselves, develop and find their own expression. We have met them in the parade band, at workshops, in the Jazz Box, in Festivalgata, at concerts with Kongsberg Jazzevidence and in various projects around the festival. Some have been part of our jazz community since they were children.
Therefore, it is a great pleasure to be able to wish Aker Trio og Super Trio Welcome to the main program.
This is the The next generation of musicians from Kongsberg – young performers with strong musical voices, great joy in playing and an impressive energy. They know each other well, have played together in various constellations for many years, and represent a vibrant local jazz community that we are incredibly proud of.
Aker Trio is an energetic and eclectic jazz trio that draws inspiration from artists such as Moses Yoofee Trio, BADBADNOTGOOD and Nate Smith. With strong roots in groove, improvisation and modern fusion, they create music that is playful, exploratory and full of energy. The audience can expect deep grooves, explosive solos, close collaboration and musical surprises along the way.
Super Trio is a young jazz rock trio inspired by bands like Krokofant, WIZRD, Soft Ffog and 1624. Here powerful riffs, improvisation and joy of playing meet in an expression that is both energetic and unpredictable. After the release of their debut album SUPERBÆR (2025), the trio is ready to show what they are good at on home soil.
We look forward to seeing these young Kongsberg musicians take the step up to the festival's main program.
After the concerts, the musicians invite free jamHere, both established and upcoming musicians can meet on stage and end the evening like many of the best jazz evenings do – with spontaneous musical encounters and a good atmosphere.
