The faces behind the stalls

A sure sign that there is a festival is that stalls appear in the center of Kongsberg. The Barnival editors have gotten to know some of the faces behind the stalls better.

Egyptian bazaar stall

You've probably seen the nice Egyptian man who now lives in Kongsberg in the Bodgata by Magasinparken. He sells everything from anklets to incense.

How long have you been in Kongsberg with the stalls?

- I have been standing here with my stall for approx. 20 years.

How much do you earn from standing in a stall?

- You don't earn very much, but it varies greatly from store to store. People are not as interested in buying things here, because they can get everything on the internet.

Are you interested in continuing and standing here? Why?

- Yes, I want to stand here for several years. It's because I really like the jazz festival.

Frozen Yoghurt stall

At the foot of the coin bridge, there is a Frozen Yoghurt stall. It has been one of the most popular stalls.

How many years have you been in this stall?

- We have never stood in this Frozen Yoghurt stall before, because we usually stand in the cheese stall a little further away on the bridge. This year we chose this stall because it was supposed to be so warm, and so far it has turned out to be going very well.

"Everything possible" stall

The last stall we visited and interviewed is a typical stall that children and young people usually visit. There you will find everything from wigs to clothes to flashing signs. You can always find these stalls in Bodgata.

How long have you been in this stall?

- I have been here for six years, but for the last two years I have not been here with my stall.

What do you like best about standing here in Kongsberg?

- I just like Kongsberg very much. I like selling here, and the fact that we are right by a river if we want to swim and that we can get food not too far away.
