The different year…
It's weird this year. It is strange that Fontenehuset has not "moved" to Flerbrukkrysset. 32 members and 5 employees had to be at work for 2 and a half weeks to get the Jazz box in place. At the house, there is a lot of talk about the loss of not being part of the festival volunteering.
For many of the members, being an official has given them new faith in themselves, and it is absolutely fantastic to see how much a person can grow by challenging themselves with tasks and situations they are not used to dealing with.
Fortunately, the most eager have been able to take part in a bit of work this year as well, says deputy head of Fontenehuset Luna Lykken Wiik
We have put up banners in the old cinema, had a bit of fun and are going to work on the digital festival.
Several of the members will meet to watch the stream from Christians Kjeller, and it is extra great that our own Mari-Lene will be interviewed by presenter Christine Dancke, says Luna.
I have followed her podcast series which deals with panic disorder in particular and anxiety in general. I was a bit starstruck, she continues, but very happy that we were able to talk about what the collaboration with the Jazz Festival means to us, says Mari-Lene. The interview will be broadcast live from Christians Kjeller on Friday. She was interviewed together with the person responsible for the Jazzbox, Eldbjørg Tveit from Kongsberg Jazzfestival
The jazz box has been a long continuous adventure to work with, says Eldbjørg Tveit
and we are very much looking forward to taking it up again next summer, she says.
Today, the entire Fontenehuset meets in our garden in Kirkegata to have a little jazz party.
A separate group has hung up posters and photos from previous festival years, DJ JazzLurifax (our own member, Jostein Johnsen)
sets the mood and we will reminisce and retell with all the good stories we have in store after six years of collaboration with Kongsberg Jazzfestival, concludes Luna Lykken Wiik
