26.000 tickets sold at Kongsbergjazz
The 51st edition of the Kongsberg Jazz Festival was one of the best ever. A total of 26.000 tickets were sold for concerts with artists such as Van Morrison, Joe Lovano Quartet, Hedvig Mollestad Trio and Mathias Eick.
After celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2014, this year's festival could easily have become "the day after". Instead, ticket sales turned out to be the second best of all time, surpassing the festival's budgeted sales target of 3.000 tickets. Over 500 volunteers have helped make this year's festival a success.
The musical highlights have been lined up, and bass player Ellen Andrea Wang ran away with the festival's big musician prize, the DNB prize, worth NOK 300.000. For this, she must sign off with a prize-winning concert at next year's festival.
- There has been a constant queue at the ticket office at the festival, and I have never experienced the like, says a tired and satisfied ticket manager Mona Sanden Olivier.
